Walking in Murcia
For walkers and cyclists we have some nice local areas around the house, Springtime is so pretty with the Almond blossom just everywhere, like a shower of pink and white snow. Just 20 mins away we have El Canar a beautiful valley and protected bird sanctuary that is popular with walkers from all over Europe. click on The Sierra Espuna has many walking trails and is very popular with cyclists and is a must to visit.

There are many beautiful areas in Murcia and locally we have El Canar a bird Sanctuary and valley surrounded by mountains with caves, sometimes when I look up I can see the tiny figures of goats looking down at me as they balance on the precipice. Real cowboy and indian ground here, you would almost expect to see Clint Eastwood riding along.
El Canar
You can walk all the way to the tiny coastal fishing village of LaAzoia a good half days walk there and back. These pictures were taken in January, stunning views with spring flowers in bloom everywhere.

There is also some lovely places to stroll in and around our village, La Magdalena.
With the almond trees in blossom and surrounded by the orange and lemon groves you can walk through many of the typical Spanish villages and enjoy the peace and the ambience.

If you prefer walking on the coast then 25mins away in Bolneuvo we have 26 kilometres of unspoilt and protected coastline, some of the beaches are for naturists and it is a stunning and dramatic backdrop which is comparible to our beautiful Cornish shores.
