Breast cancer Healing, support and wellness retreat
"May all beings be healed and whole"
BC Support and Healing week 15th to 20th April
In the village of La Magdalena, Murcia Spain
The Retreat will be facilitated by Marilyn Humphreys, a colour therapist who is currently attaining a ‘Journey therapy’ qualification and has experience of remission through alternative therapy. Also Vivienne Wharton a qualified Pilates/Exercise instructor with many years experience in health and nutrition. Both are Reiki practitioners. The Retreat is not in replacement of medical treatment and they are not medically qualified. It is a programme that has been set up as a result of their positive experience and cure of breast cancer which they wish to share and with the support of qualified therapists.
The retreat is for anyone who has been diagnosed with Breast cancer and wants to continue to maintain good health, understand more about their body and their cancer, and meet likeminded people. You may have an interest in alternative therapies, either alone or alongside conventional therapy, or you may just want to relax and recover from treatment. It is also suitable for relatives, carers and friends.

The Retreat will be uplifting and fun.
It will include appropriate Pilates and Yoga based exercises, relaxation exercises to help heal and boost the immune system. Walks in the sunshine (Murcia has more hours of sunshine than any other region and is said by the world health organisation to have the healthiest climate in the world). There will be discussions, a chance to release and heal in a safe nurturing environment, with caring support and friends. You will gain knowledge about recommended diet, nutrition and supplements and have a chance to share your own knowledge and experience of these subjects.
With any illness it is always a matter of personal choice in what treatment regimen is chosen and should be a decision made with as much knowledge as is available. Every individual’s condition and situation is different. On this Retreat you will have a chance to learn about options and practical ways of managing your own healing. If you are looking for a place to recover after treatment or just learn more about it then this could be an ideal opportunity.
One of the many possible causes of breast cancer could be due to stress and diet and by becoming more relaxed it gives us an opportunity to intuitively understand what might be the best way forward. Just to learn stress management and relaxation techniques could improve many areas of our lives.
Your retreat itinerary will include shared accommodation, full board includes 3 evening meals, 3 lunches and 5 breakfasts, giving the opportunity for trying out local Spanish cuisine which is very reasonably priced , transfers to and from the airport, local travel, daily classes, reflexology, walks, group activities, a pamper day, mosaic art making workshop, which is relaxing, therapeutic and you will take home a special keepsake, use of the retreat facilities. Other therapies will be available as optional extras.

my story.....
My name is Marilyn Humphreys and I am 56 years old and I am writing about my Breast Cancer experience.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2007. The lump was 2cm in size. I was told by the Royal Marsden that I was to have the operation sooner rather than later. After receiving my diagnosis I was stunned and shocked but something was telling me deep inside to stop and think before making any decisions. This is where my story begins on the pathway to WELLNESS.
I explained to the Consultant that I wanted time to think things through. I went to a Healer and I was advised to read the book ‘The Journey’ by Brandon Bays. I ordered it immediately. When the book arrived I could not put it down.
Once I read the book I went onto the Internet and found a Journey Practitioner who lives in my area of Surrey. Her name is Marion Howells and I confirm that I have not looked back since.
As funding was hard Marion introduced me to a Trainee Practitioner – Barbara and I was able to be a ‘case’ study. Barbara has and still is supporting me through my ‘Journey’ with reflexology and ‘Journey’ work.
I also go to a lovely lady who is a ‘homeopath’. Her name is Katie and she has put me on Dr Ramakrishnan remedies. He is a very famous Indian homeopath and has cleared many many tumours for patients.
I meditate on a daily basis and have a manifestation box and I attend various other courses. I would like to share this with you on the course.
I won a ‘Journey Breast Cancer Wellness’ course out in Denver, Colorado back in May 2009 where I was able to share with them my experiences with alternative therapy. This again was to do with ‘The Journey’ and Claire Timmerman who took the course was just amazing too. The whole team were just wonderful supporting us during our course which was solely on Breast Cancer Wellness.
Since my first diagnosis in August 2007 my lump has decreased in size. Last year´s September visit to the Royal Marsden (NHS) for an ultrasound confirmed that the depth had decreased in size. My last visit for an ultrasound was in January 2010 and my return visits have always been every 4 months, however the consultant has agreed for my next check-up appointment to be 6 months instead of 4 months! I am thrilled!!
The reason for my writing this is to explain that there are alternatives out there, although it may not work on everyone …. It certainly has done wonders for me!!
I want to share with others the various types of healing out there for us.
I am reading a book called ‘CANCER is not a disease, it’s a SURVIVAL MECHANISM. Discover Cancer’s hidden purpose, heal it’s root causes and be healthier than ever.
I trust this will encourage others to look at alternative treatment and look forward to sharing these wonderful experiences.
Namaste
Marilyn
